Jordan Castro, co-owner of Port Living Co., worked in the construction business for 20 years and saw an opportunity for product development in the concrete industry. For him, it wasn’t just a business idea, but an opportunity to pursue a passion. The journey of experimenting with concrete mixes for smaller products and finding people with his same tactile artisan talent is what inspired him to start the company. Each employee serves as an entrepreneur at Port Living Co. Concrete products are a niché marketplace, so we pride ourselves on constantly experimenting and expanding new design concepts. Our brand is constantly evolving for you and your home.
In 2017, we formed a partnership with the Ductal division of LafargeHolcim – making us one of the few concrete precasters in the world to offer products composed of high-performing concrete mixes. We are customer-centric and pour our hearts and concrete into our products to make your home sustainable with our simplistic delicate decor. Quality is our policy, as we source our materials locally and use FDA approved sealer on all kitchenware. Our candles, have also been third party burn tested to ensure safety. Our cutting edge technology produces one-of-a-kind products that you can pass down for generations. We invest in your home goods because we care.
Port Living Co. creates several different concrete ingredient mixes depending on the type of product. Concrete is hardened building material, usually purposed for factories, airports, railroads, bridges, or other transit construction projects. The manufacturing process includes mixing cement with sand or gravel aggregates, fibers and water. We don’t have any polymers, such as polyester and acrylics to ensure 100% pure concrete. Our improved mixing technique creates consistency, strength, reliability, color stability and workability across our entire product line. The mix is then poured into custom molds finished off with recycled marble dust, rubber, cork, or stainless steel to provide you with beautiful handmade products from Charleston, South Carolina. So, no matter where your from, you can bring a piece of Charleston home with you.
